TitleLetter from Thomas Gold to Sir John Kendrew, director-General, Euripean Molecular Biology Laboratory, Meyerhofstrasse 1, Postfach 10.2209, 6900 Heidelberg, Germany
Date3 May 1979
DescriptionStates his story on deep methane seems very strong now to many people, but it is still sternly ignored by the establishment. Since it holds out the promise of changing the world energy problem, this attitude seems absurd. Therefore Gordon MacDonald is sending out a letter, of which a copy is enclosed, and which will also have the signatures of Hans Bethe, Melvin Calvin and Joshua Lederberg. This letter is to ask if Kendrew would be willing to sign it also. If so, the final copy would be circulated to him later.
