Says that, as radar has been the only way to discover features on Venus, they have decided that the regions should be named after eminent figures in the fields of electromagnetic theory and radio e.g. Maxwell, Marconi, Hertz, Faraday. Asks Professor Guerlac for a list of three or four names of those involved in the same field from the USSR or its allies to ensure that 'there is no appearance of discrimination on political grounds'. |
