TitleLetter from Thomas Gold to Professor Carl Sagan, CRSR, Campus
Date1 June 1971
DescriptionConcurs that Veverka should before long be appointed a Senior Research Associate. Gold will make the formal recommendation whenever Sagan says, and Gold suggests an earlier date than next February. This step should help in relating to teaching, though contract support does not allow a person to undertake formal teaching duties. In the past senior reserch associates received a small contribution to their salary from the departmental budget, and this then allows them to do formal teaching, The advancement to Senior Research Associet also carries with it the possibility of adminisdtering research grants or contracts.
