| Caption | Vanity Fair. Men of the Day. No. 855 Sir William Henry Broadbent, K.C.V.O., M.D., F.R.C.P., LL.D., F.R.S. He was born seven-and-sixty years ago, he is a Fellow of various Societies, Consulting Physician to a couple of hospitals, and he has attended Royalty. He has not yet been President of the College of Physicians; but he has written on "The Pulse" and on "Heart Disease," and he has been improved into a Baronet. He is very orthodox indeed, he is a very general specialist, and he has a very strong objection to self-advertisement. He has a determined upper lip, and he has described himself as a fairly diligent reader. |

I remember that Sir James Paget was subjected to a similar indignity'. |
