DescriptionPapers of application from University of the West Indies to the Wolfson Foundation for a grant contribution towards a marine laboratory. The cricketer Sir Frank Worrell was involved in advocating for the application, arguing that the Great Coral Reefs of the North Coast of Jamaica were valuable for marine research, including research into coral reef. Tom F Goreau was principal scientist on the project, but died in post aged 45.

The application was made to the Wolfson Foundation's 'Science and Medicine' programme area.

The application meeting was held on 9 February 1965.
