DescriptionExtract from the register of the Committee of Arts of Geneva (vol 68, part 2, p 951) containing a report by the Committee on the reading of a paper by Mr [Paul?] Preudhomme regarding gears, wheels, and pinions in watchmaking and Preudhomme's related invention. The report analyses Preudhomme's gear invention in detail. An ink inscription at the bottom of the final page, written in a different hand and signed Ph [Philippe] Robin, states that the Commission wished to bestow the highest honour on Preudhomme for his invention.
