TitleUnpublished extract, regarding objects sent by Mr Le Cerf from the register of the Committee of Arts
Date13 September 1779
DescriptionExtract from the register of the Committee of Arts of Geneva containing a report by the Committee on the examination of objects sent to Professer [Horace Benedict] de Saussure by Mr Le Cerf on 27 June 1779. Le Cerf had claimed that his watchmaking machine differed in principle from Preudhomme's similar invention. The Committee concluded that Preudhomme's invention was preferable to Le Cerf's and that Le Cerf's modifications were not an improvement on the original invention. An ink inscription at the bottom of the final page, signed Ph [Philippe] Robin, summarises the Committee's decision.
