DescriptionCopy of a letter from Preudhomme to the Committee of Arts of Geneva regarding the watchmaking machine that Le Cerf copied from Preudhomme. He explains his relationship with Le Cerf, beginning in 1775, and recounts their working relationship and the beginnings of Le Cerf's 'improvements' on Preudhomme's tools and inventions. He ends by posing questions about whether or not Le Cerf had the same ideas before meeting Preudhomme or had written his paper before seeing Preudhomme's work.
