DescriptionRoberts notices differences between the duplicate photographic plates in his star chart for the Northern Hemisphere, for which he suggests three possible causes: the duration of exposure; the varying sensitivity of the film; and the hygrometric states of the atmosphere. In this paper he focuses on the differences caused by various exposures.
