DescriptionSankey observes during the course of his experiments on the electrolytic deposition of copper that the resistance of the electrolytic cells employed is greater the lower the current density, and the experiments described in this paper are undertaken to inquire more definitely into the matter.

Annotations in pencil throughout. Includes three figures of Sankey's experimental apparatus and a series of tables and graphs.

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 45 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'Experiments on the resistance of electrolytic cells'.
