TitleUnpublished correspondence, regarding the memoirs of Alfred Edwin Howard Tutton between J T S Tutton, the Secretary of the Royal Society, Henry Miers and Frank Smith
Date16 July 1938-25 July 1938
DescriptionFive letters, dated 16 July 1938, 16 July 1938, 18 July 1938, 22 July 1938 and 25 July 1938 respectively, in which J T S Tutton presents the memoirs of his father written 'some time before he died [...] with the idea that they might be useful as obituaries by the Societies in which he had the most interest' [16 July 1938] before suggesting that an obituary for his father might better be written by Miers, 'a lifelong friend' [16 July 1938]. Miers writes that the memoirs of A Tutton 'clearly could not be published as it stands except over his own signature which would make a reader smile' but offers to 'boil it down' [25 July 1938] and produce a revised version which might be published as an obituary.
