DescriptionHoward provides a report and analysis based on meteorological observations taken around London in 1820. He includes tables of average temperatures, average barometrical readings, average windspeeds, and average rainfall. Annotations and corrections appear throughout in ink and graphite.

The paper was originally titled 'A meteorological report for the year 1820 in the vicinity of London' in ink, but this is struck out in graphite and amended to 'Some remarks on meteorology'.

Subject: Meteorology

Read to the Royal Society on 10 May 1821.

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper, Howard published this paper in an anthology in 1854: Howard, Luke. Papers on Meteorology: Relating Especially to the Climate of Britain, and to the Variation of the Barometer. Vol. 1. Taylor & Francis, 1854.
