DescriptionDiscusses receipt of letters from Blagden. Has not heard from his sister and conveys message to both. Is waiting for an opportunity to return to England. Gay Lussac has had an accident, a chemical explosion has deprived him of his sight for a while. Discusses Gay Lussac and Thenard's experiments with soda and potash. Advises Davy to slow down in his research. "Science is given up to faction here" [Paris]. His letter is carried by an American minister. Asks him to let Mrs Tait? know that she may write to him.
