DescriptionInforms [William Dobinson] Halliburton that his nomination to become Secretary of the Royal Society was provisional, and the final decision is always taken at the second Council meeting. Informs him that at the second Council meeting, it was decided that Sir [Archibald] Geikie would be nominated for Secretary rather than Halliburton. Hopes that Halliburton will consent to serve as a Member of the Council instead.
