DescriptionOn behalf of the Marquess of Lansdowne, acknowledges receipt of the Royal Society's forwarding a letter from Professor [George Howard] Darwin regarding the measurement of a geodetic arc of meridian in Africa. Notes that the information will be communicated through His Majesty's Charge d'Affaires at Berlin to the German Government. Notes that preparations are being made by the Survey Department of the Egyptian Government for the execution of the northern portion of this undertaking. Encloses a letter addressed to Darwin [not present].
