DescriptionInforming the Royal Society that Mr Runciman [Walter Runciman (1870-1949), President of the Agricuilture and Fisheries] has had under consideration various proposals for conducting research into the pathology of swine fever with a view to reinforcing the enquiries on this subject. States that ' the pathology of swine fever presents problems of unusual difficulty and are such that only through the combined endeavours of skilled investigators attacking them from different points of view can it be hoped to find a satisfactory solution of the important economic question involved. Mr Runciman is therefore desirous of inviting the co-operation of rhe Royal Society in this matter and on learning that the Society would be prepared to superintend independent research into the disease, he would take steps to have the necessary funds provided. '
