DescriptionResponding to Oliver's letter of 30 June 1914 which was laid before the President and Council on the previous day. The Royal Society has agreed to accept the invitation of the President of the Board of Agriculture to investigate Swine Fever. Council has nominated a committee to prepare a scheme of investigation and to form an estimate of the probable costs, to be formulaed before 23 July. The committee will be prepared to supervise and control the enquiry. States the Fellows on the committee give their services gratuitously, but the President and Council consider it reasonable to ask the Board to defray travelling expenses to the meetings.
