Description | Appreciates the vote of confidence and the offer of financial assistance for [Cecil Godfrey] Rawling's expedition. Very much regrets that he [Rawling] will not be able to use the Royal Society's generosity at present, as he has had a message from the India Office saying that due to the state of affairs in Tibet, the expedition must be postponed. Informs the Royal Society that the proposed expedition will be renewed next year. Thanks Sir John for his support. |
