TitleLetter from Charles Walker, to Sir Archibald Geikie, Secretary of the Royal Society
Date1 March 1907
DescriptionExpresses surprise that Sir Archibald Geikie did not receive Walker's letter of 4 April 1906 until a while after it was sent. Expresses regret that Geikie has been troubled with such an unpleasant matter, and that he [Walker] implies no accusation of dishonesty against any member of the Royal Society or its staff. Informs Geikie that the letter to Professor [John Bretland] Farmer on 23 April 1906 only intended to point out that the Royal Society was paying almost three times as much as it needed to for illustrations, and that this might be due to employing agents instead of block-makers.
