TitleLetter from William de Wiveleslie Abney, to [Sir Michael Foster] the Secretary of the Royal Society
Date18 June 1900
DescriptionHe has received the pamphlet from Edridge Green and has corresponded on his method of testing, relaying Green's main questions. Green is a disappointed man, believing that the committee had prevented the Board of Trade from putting the whole thing into his hands. He thinks it right to mention this for the information of the committtee: he has sent Edridge Green's letters home, so cannot send them to Foster, but will do so on his return. Any difference of opinion among ophthalmic surgeons is confined to those who do not experiment in a scientific way and whose opinions Abney would not take notice of.

With a covering memorandum from Robert Harrison to Miss Mackin, 15 July 1910: 'If you can make this out I think it would be useful to have a typed copy'.
