TitleLetter from George Herbert Murray, Treasury Chambers, to the Secretaries of the Royal Society, Burlington House
Date14 December 1906
DescriptionThe Lords Commissioners have the Society's letter of 1 December. They will be prepared to include in the estimate for 1907-08 a sum for the expenditure at Eskdalemuir Observatory as part of the grant-in-aid paid to the Royal Society for the National Physical Laboratory. They wish to know how much of the £1,170 sum approved by the Magnetic Observatory Committee is a new charge, allowing for reductions of the Kew establishment, and therefore is a net addition.
