TitleCopy letter from Arthur Schuster, Victoria Park, Manchester, to Sir Richard Tetley Glazebrook
Date4 November 1902
DescriptionOn recent researches in atmospheric electricity by Mr. [C.T.R.] Wilson funded by the Meteorological Council and the Council's general interest in the topic and in terrestrial magnetism. Kew Observatory has acted as a central record for such work, but due to disturbances from electric trams, the facility is to be moved. Both the choice of site, and the organisation of the new institution, are under consideration. Schuster is concerned that subjects related to meteorology will be handed over to an institution not created for that purpose and thinks that the Directors should approach the Royal Society to discuss the matter.
