That there was insufficient information to justify the large funds necessary to sent an expedition to Jan Mayen, but that an establishment on the Shetland Islands might assist the Norwegian expedition by providing meteorological, magnetic and auroral observations. That the Royal Society should declare adhesion to the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics as established at the Brussels meeting. Regulations on National Committee retiring members and representation should be left to each Society represented. |
