DescriptionThe Governor of Bermuda has asked the Royal Society to consider that a committee of the Legislature has recommended the establishment of a marine biological station in Bermuda. Their report has been adopted by the House of Assembly. The committee further recommended that institutions in the United Kingdom and the United States of America should be consulted to approve the establishment and to co-operate in making the station international in character and suitable for advanced scientific research.
