TitleLetter from Alfred Clarence Redfield, Harvard Club of Boston, to Joseph Barcroft
Date2 September 1921
DescriptionHe has been getting things done for the Peru trip, including learning some rudimentary Spanish. Henry Forbes is coming, as is Harrop, but there is no word of Binger. He is visiting Henderson with Van Slyke on the 17th. He is waiting for Edsall's return before contacting the Ceno de Pasu people and the x-ray machine is similarly pending. Barometers will await the return of Dr. Yerkes of the National Research Council, who may also be able to help with the x-ray machine. Dr. Cannon is allowing departmental spending on machinery. He has heard from Alex Forbes that their boxes are still at Cambridge and asks that Barcroft contact Pickford's. The ergometer has come. There are no customs difficulties but Barcroft should come to some arangement, such as a certificate, for the return to England in view of agitation for protective duties on scientific materials. He notes his circumnavigation of Matha's Vineyard by sail with Dr. Cobb.
