TitleLetter from Arlie V. Bock, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, to Joseph Barcroft
Date14 September 1921
DescriptionHarrop has written that his plans are made for the Peru Expedition and Binger has that day decided to join the party after being in Boston to talk matters over, although the final decision rests with Cole. Enthusiasm is running high. The Professor is entertaining Van Slyke and Palmer and discussing the general problem of acidosis. Bock will be glad to see Van Slyke's blood gas methods. Dr. Edsall is still on vacation but Bock will raise the matter of finances with him and he notes that Professor Henderson may help. Bock has just returned from the mid-west and is disappointed at Pickford's handling of the apparatus. Little optimism about Krogh's H2O method but they will try it. Various other comments on equipment, methodology and the interests of Forbes, Buiger and Redfield. He has not yet conveyed Barcroft's greetings to Professor Cannon or Dr. Cushing. Barcroft should prepare for a strenuous time in Boston during his short visit.
