TitleLetter from Joseph Barcroft, R.M.S. Victoria, to [John Newport] Langley
Date29 November 1921
DescriptionHe is certain that the cylinders would be worth bringing back, giving prices and freight charges. He does not know what the Royal Society might wish to do with them, but it is likely that they would give or sell them to the laboratories. Two cylinders are empty already because a man developed pneumonia shortly after leaving Liverpool and the oxygen saved him. Gives a short account of progress including bad weather after leaving Vigo. They have reduced gas analysis on a rolling ship to a fine art.
