TitleLetter from Joseph Barcroft, Physiological Laboratory, Cambridge, to [William Bate] Hardy
Date11 June [1921]
DescriptionBarcroft has had a useful chat with Oliver Bury, formerly of the Great Northern Railway, now Chairman of the Peru Corporation which operates the main railway in Peru. Bury stated that he would put everything at their disposal should he go, including a car to live in which might function as a mobile laboratory. Barcroft's college has guaranteed the money necessary without being asked, although Barcroft hopes they will not have to pay anything. The guarantee would allow him to make necessary plans, however. He is writing to Hardy at the Royal Society to ask if the money for Monte Rosa may be diverted.
