Description | Extracts of two letters. The first includes details of the comet at Madras [Chennai, India] extracted from a letter of Sartorine, a missionary at Madras, dated 9 February, to Mr Boyer at Petersbourgh translated from the German by Cromwell Mortimer. The second includes details of the comet at Lisbon seen by Vanbrugh on board the Burford Man of War, and communicated to the Royal Society by John Hadley.
