DescriptionCowper describes experimenting with Colbatch's styptick powder on abdominal wounds and amputations on dogs. Following the powder's success in this context, Cowper attempted to use the powder on two individuals requiring amputations in the hospital without success.

The second and third pages of the manuscript include a draft table of contents for the February 1694 issue of Philosophical Transactions.
