Description | Gandolphe, a doctor from Dunkirk [France], describes a case of an individual whose cornea had turned red and who had lost most of their vision. Gandolphe made multiple incisions in the cornea over the course of several days, releasing aqueous humour and blood. He applied a compress of plantain and vulnerary water and the patient's sight was restored. Original French manuscript found at CLP/12i/67.
