Description | The note explains that James Sutherland, 'master of the physick garden at Edinburgh', has had some figures of coins printed though he has not yet published them, and that Robert Brock, a goldsmith in Glasgow, 'will give their note to restore them to their owners upon demand, after they are coppied.' The note is bordered by figures of a Roman and a Saxon coin, and gold and silver Scottish coins. The lower border of the note shows the inscription and size of a ring found in Scotland.
