DescriptionDescribes the visits to glass manufacturers including the Ayres Quay Bottle Co, the Alf. Alexander & Co, Sowerby's Ellison Glass Workds, George Davidson & Co, and Nuttal & Co. Describes the result of clinical observations, 'that bottle makers are subject to a form of cataract which appears to be characteristic'. Notes the conditions of work [bright flames etc]. Suggests that the Royal Society write to obtain permission to visit Messrs Pilkington's plate glass works, and recommends some other routes of research. p7-11.
