Description ' The British Committee for Co-operation with UNESCO in the Natural Sciences agreed at its meeting on 8 March 1950 that the British Scientific Delegation to Florence be instructed as follow;
(a) To give the highewt priority to supporting the following draft resolutions for 1951;
2. 111 to assist by means of grants-in-aid and services the activities of the International Council of Scienctific Unions and its federated Unions in promoting international co-operation in basic sciences;

2.151 to maintain and develop the Field Science Co-operation Offices in Latin AMerica, East Africa, South Asia, the Middle East, in order to facilitate the c0-ordination of research and the spread of knowledge by maintaining contact between the scientists and technologists in their areas and those in the main centres of scientific research continuing thropugh thesew offices;
(a) to organise the exchange of scientific information, personnel and material;
(b) to promote discussion on scientific problems of practical regional importance;
(c) to collect and disseminate knowledge of the problems and achievements of the scientists in their areas;
(d) to collaborate closely with the Field Officers of the other Specialized Agencies working in their areas;

(b) To give general support to the following draft resolutions:
