2. Chairman's report on his recent visit to the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Czechoslovakia, Switzerland, France and Belgium and his discussions with biologists there on the representation on the development and future activities of he International Union of Biological Sciences [See Appendix, ref. CMB/112/3/1]

3. Resolved ' that the Committee record its opinion that it is not desirable for the International Union of Biological Sciences to be split into sections but that it is desirable that there be a wide representation of the various biological sciences on the Bureau of the Union.

4. The Committee agreed that it was desirable that the International Union of Biological Sciences should be represented by one or more delegates at international congresses in the biological sciences.

5. Resolved - that it be a recommendation to Council that, as an interim measure,
5a. financial support to the extent of £100 be given towards the maintenance of the collections of fungi at Baarn and Delft in Holland
5b. if it seemed desirable to the Chairman after consultation with Professor Fritsch, a similar grant of £100 be made towards the maintenance of the collection of algae and liverworts in Prague.

6. Resolved - that the attention of the Bureau of the International Union of Biological Sciences be drawn to the desirability of an Index Biologorum in book form, giving the names and addresses of biologists of all countries, together with a short note on their research activities and containing a list of institutions

7. Resolved - that the President of the Union be asked to approach the Academy of Sciences, Moscow, with an invitation to the USSR to adhere to the International Union of Biological Science.

8. Resolved - that it be a recommendation to Council that the Society of General Microbiology be invited to nominate a representative to serve on the National Committee.
