3. Reported that Dr K M Smith had been appointed a representative of the Society of General Microbiology on the National Com mittee for Biology.

4. After discussion it was resolved ' that it be a recommendation to Council that Professor Munro Fox, Professor F T Brooks and Dr E Hindle be nominated British delegates to the General Assembly of the International Union of Biological Sciences at Coopenhagen on 28 July 1947 and that a grant be made to cover their expenses. '
