Description | Present at the meeting: The President in the chair: Mr A B Kempe; Professor Larmor; Professor Carey Foster; Professor A E H Love; Professor J Milne; Professor J Perry; Mr C Reid; Professor A Schuster; Mr J J H Teall; Professor H H Turner
Minutes of previous meeting read and signed.
' Professor Schuster made a statement to the Committee with regard to the Proceedings of the International Seismological Association since the last meeting of the Committee and informed them that at the meeting of the Committee of the Association to be held next September at Zermatt, the question of the place of assembly of the Association in 1911 would probably be considered, and further, that at the Meeting of the Association in 1911 the question of the future location of the Central Bureau may very probably arise.
It was agreed that in the opinion of this Committee it would not be opportune in present circumstances to invite the Association to hold its next meeting in England.
The President called attention to the fact that the grant made by the Government Grant Committee to assist Professor Milne in the conduct of his seismographical work at Shide, terminates at the end of this year, and it was Resolved: - That it be recommended to the Government Grant Committee to renew the grant to Professor Milne for a further period of three years.
