Summary of Recommendations to Council

Minute 3(a) : that the sum of £400 should be included in the Royal Society Treasure estimate for the next financial year for the fourth meeting of the ICSU Special Committee on Antarctic Research, which was likely to be held in Cambridge in late August 1960, should the Director of the Scott Polar Research Institute be fully satisfied, after consulting all concerned, that this was a suitable venue for the meeting.

Minute 6 : that the United Kingdom annual subscription to SCAR for 1959 of 500 dollars be paid.

Minute 11 : that a letter be sent to the President of the United States National Academy of Sciences in Washington inviting their co-operation in a joint venture leading to the publication of an Antarctic Atlas by the Clarendon Press.
