Extract of letter from Sir Archibald Denny summarising the conclusions reached at the previous meeting read by the chairman. Chairman stated the Committee was an executive body, and could proceed with the Westminster memorial and the the medal and lectureship, but not anything else.
Reported Lady Parson's opinion that while the London House (library) scheme was very gratifying, she thought a still more attractive scheme might be thought of, as it was a part of a bigger whole, and a rather small part.
Discussion of proposed London House Library scheme, together with statement of current finance for it, and purchase of site. Also that this not typical of Sir Chasrles Parson's work as a marine engineer. Chairman to consider written replies of Major Fryor, and any ohter scheme which might be submitted, and the Committee to formulate the proposals which should be put before the main conference with regard to obtaining the money. London House schemne currently being considered, it was feasible and a worthy scheme, but should consider if there was something even more worthy, |
