Site of London House had been visited by the Chairman, Mr Pendred, Mr Walker, and Major Fryor, who were all favourably impressed. Discussion of a scheme which would not be centred in London which might prove more favourable for marine and steam engineers, and where the money was to come from eg international, especially from the French and the Americans. Possibly establishing a chair in the north east, eg Durham, but need more information. Discussed this as an opportunity for establishing a professorship that would look to the future and the new generation.
