Letter from Mr Pendred read, with apologies for absence and his views on the draft report, financial statement and appeal.

Discussed the financial statement, and the need to have £3000 as definitely promised before they could start an appeal. Report would need to be approved by the main committee, afterwards they coudl try to obtain more promises for not less than £3000 and then send out the appeal.

The Committee agreed a revised statement to the mai committee ' We are of the opinion that there are reasonable prospects of raising the necessary funds. We recommend, therefore, that an appeal should be made. '

Draft report then considered in detail and amendments made.

Discussed the form of the appeal. Decided on a short letter, enclosing an obituary notice of Sir Charles Parsons, and signed by the Presidents of all the Institutions repressented on the main Committee, with a list of several substantial promises of support.
