1. Read minute of council appointing the committee ' Resolved that the Chairmen of the Geology, botany, Zoology and Physiology Sectional Committees, together with the Officers of tye Society, do form a Committee to consider applications for the Studentship, with power to add any such other Fellows as the applictions might make desirable. '

2. In pursuance of the powers conferred on the Committee, it was resolved ; 'That Lord Lister be added to the Committee'

3. Attention called to Dr Monckton Copeman's desire to apply for the studentship by Lord Lister and it was agreed his application be received

4. List of applications laid before the Committee and considered;
4.1 J Walker Hall MB, ChB, Owens College Manchester. Proposed research; continuation of critical study of methods employed in the estimation of 'purins' in animal organs and vegetable foodstuffs etc
4.2 F W Edridge-Green MD FRCS, Hendon. Proposed Research; Colour vision
4.3 D G Sutherland MB, BSc, Cambridge. Proposed research; 'Pathological Research'
4.4 J J R Macleod MB, ChB, Demonstrator of Physiology, London Hospital Medical College. Proposed research ; prosecution of his researches in Pathological Chemistry
4.5 J Jenkinson MA Oxford. Specific nature of reserch not yet stated
James C Bringan, Glasgow University. 'Original reserch in pathology'
4.6 F W Twort, MRCS, LRCP, Clinical Laboratory St Thomas's Hospital. Proposed research; reaction of various plants to Sarcoma, Crcin9ma etc
4.7 Otto V Darbishire BA, PhD Owens College Manchester. Specific nature of research not yet stated

5. After discussion Dr Copeman's appliction withdrawn by Lord Lister, and resolved to present a report to Council. [Printed copy of the report pasted into the minutes]

6. 'Resolved - that in the event of the Council accepting the Committee's suggestions a second meeting of the Committee be held on Friday 12 July at 3.00 pm and that in the meantime enquiries be made as to the four candidates named in the report (Richard Evans; T G Hill; J J R Macleod; and H H Swinnerton)
