DescriptionGrain Pests Committee Committee appointed by Council at a meeting of 18 May 1916, ' Upon a report from the War sub-Committee B, it was agreed that a Committee be appointed to consider and report upon the investigation of the bionomics and economic importance of grain-infesting insects, with special reference to imported grain - the Committee to consist of: Professor V H Blackman, Professor A Dendy, Mr J H Durrant (of the British Museum), Professor Stanley Gardiner, Mr W B Hardy, Professor R Newstead, And Mr J C Fryer (Entomologist to the Board of Agriculture). The Committee to have power to communicate with outside bodies as to questions of finance, and to enquire as to what scientific workers are available for the investigation. '

Minutes of a committee appointed to consider the damage done to grain and flour by pests. Includes correspondence with overseas committees set up for similar purpose. Chaired for the most part by W A Herdman. Changed to status of a War Committee in 1918.
