DescriptionCommittee appointed by Council Minute of meeting held on 9 July 1935, item14 ' Read letter f rom Dr E J Allen, who inquired after consultation with officials of the minitry of Agricultuer and Fisheries and of the Development Commission, whether the Royal Society would be willing to set up a British Committee whose duties ould be-
(i) to drae up, in co-operatino with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, and the Bermuda Biological Station, a detailed scheme of oceanogrphic work, and,

(ii) to be responsible for the financial administration of any money subscribed privately or received from Government sources on behalf of the Bermuda Station

Resolved - That a Committee be formed for these purposes and that the following be nominated members of the Bermuda Oceanogrphic Committee: - Dr W R G Atkins; Dr J N Carruthers; Sir Percy Douglas; Professor W Garstang; Professor A V Hill; Dr S W Kemp (Secretary); Professor E W MacBride (Chairman); Dr F J W Roughton; and Dr J B Tait.
