DescriptionObrained by correspondence on request from Dr W Beebe that he be allowed to charter the "Culver" for service in connexion with his scientific work in the Bermudas.
Request agreed on the following conditions -
1. 'The period of charter to be not less than six months.
2. The charterer to pay hire at the rate f £1800 a year, and all operating costs.
3. The owners to be responsible ror the insurance of the shp, but not of the crew.
4. In the event of a breakdown in any part of the hull, machinery or gear, the charterer to bear the cost f the repirs; the charterer to replace at his own expense the entire trawl warp, if more than 500 m. of it is lost.
5. Payments for hire to be continued while any defects are being made good.
6. At the end of the period of charter the charterer to be responsible for all defects and deficiences, other than fair wear and tear.
