1. Further consideration given to the expenditure which would be necessary in order to allow the Bermuda Station to co-operate in the oceanographic programme outlined by Profesor Bigelow.

2. Letters read from Mr Iselin, Mr E A Bennett and Dr R S Clark giving advice together with specifications and prices of vessels sutable for the work. [Information listed]

3. ' After careful consideration, it was agreed that the rice of th boat should be estimated at about £4,000, leaving the question of length to be decided alter. For this sum, a new boat of 65 feet or more could be built, while if greater length were needed a second hand vessel could be bought and converted.

4. Estimates for teh scientific instruments had been prepared by the Secretary, and it was agreed that £750 was a suitable provision.

5. It was decided, on the suggestion of Dr Roughton, that it would be better to replace the technical assistant (mentioned inthe earlier estimates) by a qualified scientific assistant at a salary of £300, who could relieve the Director of much of the routine work of the station. '

6. Full estimates drawn up by the Committee, for capital expenditure, and recurring expenditure, listed in the minutes.

7. The Committee authorized the Chairman and secretary to send the estimates to H M Treasury with a suitable letter applying for a grant.
