Consideration of letters from the Foreign Office, and two resolutions: to inform the Foreign Office that no conclusions could be drawn from Dr Wiggins' experiments at Nairobi, and inform them that even though the evidence that trypanosome causes sleeping sickness does not amount to 'absolute proof', it is still strong enough to warrant preventive measures, such as restricting the flow of people between infected and non-infected areas. 3. Consideration of Dr Nabarro's application for a grant for sleeping sickness experiments to be carried out in London. 7. Reading of a letter from the Foreign Office on the proposal to bring sleeping sickness patients from Portugal to England, and a resolution that the Royal Society would bear the cost of this transport 'provided that cost would not exceed a few pounds'. 8.
