Description | Prepared by Miss Robertson for the Tropical Dieases Committee. Describes the physical features of the southern Masindi district, and the history of the tribes and their cattle herding efforts in the Kafu District. Describes the number of cattle affected with sleeping sickness in the various districts. Estimates that 'owing to the absence of proper and perfectly simple precautions in regard to the moving of herds over 3,000 head of cattle have been lost to the Protectorate' and suggests that should the flies in the area become infected with a human strain there would be 'serious loss of life, both native and European'. Summarises findings and lays out a scheme of prevention. Part of a series of despatches between p91 and 92. |
