33. New Members - Miss Mews welcomed by Chairman

34. Confirmed minutes of previous meeting on 5 May

35. Correspondence
a. Letter from the Documentation Standards Committee of the British Standards Institution requesting permission to send Sir William L Davies as a delegate - agreed his nomination should be accepted
b. Letter from the Medical Research Council; agreed nomination of Miss Ethel Wigmore be accepted as deputy for Dr Green, with power to vote in his absence.

36. Chairman's remarks
a. Comments on progress by Editors
b. Concerning printing of memorandum by various biological societies to be printed as a Conference paper - report by Sir Alfred Egerton. Statement from Dr Pantin to be similarly treated.

37. Membership of the Conference - reported by Dr Martin that UK delegates now number 123, overseas delegates 22 (Total 145). 247 requests for tickets received, making total membership of the Conference 392

39. Programme of the Conference - proof copy received

40. Exhibition and Visits Sub-Committee - verbal report from the Sub- Committees's Secretary, exhibition to have 21 items, 15 visits to technical establishments, and eleven social engagements, most for overseas delegates

41. Membership of Working Parties - considered a list, and agreed numbers. Agreed there should be not less than one overseas delegate on each Working Party, and Dr Malloch as Chairman BCSO (London) be asked for suitable nominations.

42. Joint meeting of Working Parties - five had been arranged as detailed in [SIC/91 (48)], first two to be open meetings to the Conference as a whole, last three to be closed meetings of the Working Parties concerned. Large Lecture Room to be available for each of the last two meetings.

43. Agenda for Working Parties - agreed meeting to be convened of Chairmen of sectional plenary sessions and Editors, to prepare agenda for the plemary session.

44. Rules of Procedure - suggestions by Professor Bernal listed, and agreed that this matter be left with the Officers of the Royal Society.

45. Working Party Reports - Suggestions from Professor Bernal and Sir Alfred Egerton [details in minutes]

46. Information considered by working parties - Agreed to Secretary's suggetion that one copy of all documents considered or consulted by Working Parties be lodged at the Royal Society

47. Copyright - agreed this should be discussed at the joint meeting of Working Parties ID, IIB, and IIA, and a legal representative to also attend .

48. Replies to Questionnaire - many received, Profesor Bernal collating. Agreed replies of interest to the whole Conference, and should be reported at a special meeting at 11.30 am on 23 June.

49. Date of Tentative meeting - not felt that another meeting of this Committee would be necessary before the Conference, but should the Officers decide to call alnother meeting, it is to be held at 10.30 am on Thursday 17 June 1948.
