1. Confirmed minutes of meeting of 16 March 1944
2. Committe informed that the Chairman had written letters as in minute 2(b) of previous meeting.
3. Resolved ' that (a) Professor A C Chibnall and Professor R A Peters be asked to form a sub-committee to deal with biochemistry; and that (b) Professor A C Chibnall be the chairman of the sub-committe; and that (c) a report of the conclusions reached by the sub-committee be brought to this committee. '
4. After considering sending out a questionnaire, it was resolved 'that a questionnaire be sent to the haeads of biological departments'
5. After considering the question of teaching inside the universities, it was resolved ; 5a. ' that there should be established a limited number of readerships in biology 5b. that a little teaching of the principles of pathology should be included in the general curriculum 5c. that there should be established readerships in microbiology, including bacteriology 5d. that there should be made available inicreased facililties for a training in taxonomy. (In this connexion it was held that this would be best secured by co-operation with museums and botanic gardens) 5e. that there should be established readerships in genetics. 5f. that there should be established a limited number of readerships in limnology (freshwater biology). '
